Mish is a Pōneke-born potter of Sāmoan and Swiss whakapapa, now based in the Waitākere Ranges. She creates functional ware, made to hold and to use. Influenced by Korean ceramic traditions, she works with minimalist forms and earthen finishes that embrace rawness and restraint.
She works in Aotearoa stoneware, blended with wild clay harvested locally. Her recent focus is on soda wood and gas firings in Titirangi – drawn to the rugged, organic aesthetic.
Wood firing is a process that asks for patience, endurance, and care. Mish loves the way each piece is ultimately given over to ash, flame, and chance. In her work, she hopes to create quiet moments of connection with the raw forces of the natural world.
